We have scheduled a WEBEOC training session for Tuesday evening May 22nd at the EOC.

WEBEOC is a web based application that allows BCARES members to Log-in from wherever they may be to obtain information about an active incident in progress, or to access certain BCARES documentation from the BCARES File Library.

WEBEOC is required training for the Facility Support level of BCARES membership (next level beyond Associate). This level of membership is used to determine your possible deployment to a shelter during an active incident.

BCARES currently has 30 Associate level members that do not yet have this training.

This session is limited to a maximum of 18 students, so if you are interested and available for this session, please click on the date in the calendar and 'Book' yourself into the session. If you have a problem in the booking process please contact Jerry directly. We need to submit a list of names and e-mail addresses prior to the session for the instructor to create a login for each participant.

Packet Training - Part 2 - April 21st

The March training session went well. Attendees became familiar with the BCARES Packet Sets as well as their own personal setups. The big take-away was the fact that the technology is very old (AX.25), it still works today, and the only difference we are seeing is in the new interfaces (GUIs) being developed to help with setup. (Outpost Packet Message Manager, RCWinLink, RMS Express)

This second session is also to help members get up-and-running with their own packet equipment. People should bring their radios and hardware, if possible. The goal is it to make it work. All set-up questions welcome.

Please click on the date (April 21st) in the calendar and 'Book' yourself into this training if you are planning to attend.

Thanks...........Jerry  (NØOUW)

btw:

If this is your first time using packet please review videos 02, 04, 05, and 07 (they start at the bottom of the page) at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=UUFE00Ijq5WsDh7Y2Ak72CiA before the class to allow us more time for station setup.  Please bring your packet station to test or to help you get it operational.  We will also have BCARES packet stations to train on.
