On Saturday November 12th from 09:00 to noon, Membership Orientation will be held in the EOC / Communications Center at 3280 Airport Road in Boulder. All new members need this training in order to qualify for their BCARES ID from the Sheriff's Department. This training is also recommended as a refresher if you have not had this training in the last 5 years.

At the end of the class we will also do the Carry Test which is required for field deployment. We'll meet in the parking lot at 11:30.

If you have any questions contact George - KA0BSA, BCARES EC & Chairperson

Announcing an opportunity to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid Certification for BCARES members.

The cost for this training will be $6 for CPR and $1.50 for First aid. This certification is required for the Field Support (S) and Field Qualified (Q) levels of BCARES membership and is good for 2 years.

There is a maximum class size of 9 for this training, and a minimum of 5, so sign up, with a booking, as soon as possible if you are interested. This is the best price I have ever seen, and it will be taught by Terry Young who teaches these courses for ARES groups across Colorado.

With an estimate of 3-4 hours for each session, I would suggest that we bring a sack lunch for a brief lunch break between sessions.

The date is set for Saturday June 11 and will be held in the Pawnee room in the Boulder EOC from 9am to 4pm.

To book a space for this training, click on the date (June 11) in the calendar.

By now, most of you should have received a packet in the mail outlining the new BCARES Certification and Credentialing Program (or C&C). The needs and requirements of our served agencies are growing, and, as a result, the board has developed a new C&C program that will help ensure that we're continuing to assist our served agencies in a safe and superlatively effective manner. If you haven't seen the letter yet, have a look below for a great introduction to the new process.
